MR-voorzitter Georges-Louis Bouchez was op dinsdag 4 april uitgenodigd om te gaan spreken bij de International Club of Flanders (ICF) in Gent. Een 55 jaar oude businessclub die beslissingsnemers uit verschillende werelden en sectoren bij elkaar brengt: ondernemers, managers, adviseurs, academici, politici en mensen uit de culturele sector. De Cercle Royal La Concorde stelde zijn clublokaal ter beschikking voor dit Oost-Vlaams gespreksdiner met GLB.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De voorzitter bracht er voor een volle zaal zijn intussen bekende sociaaleconomische boodschap: \u201cMeer mensen aan het werk en minder overheidsuitgaven voor lagere belastingen en een betere begroting.\u201d Hervormingen van de arbeidsmarkt dus om werklozen te activeren. Met een afschaffing van de werkloosheidsuiteringen van al wie na 2 jaar inactiviteit nog altijd geen job of opleiding wil aanvaarden. En met een plafond op de sociale voordelen bovenop de uitkering. \u201cAlleen zo wordt het voor velen pas weer interessanter om te gaan werken dan om thuis te zitten. Wie kan werken, moet werken: voor zichzelf, zijn omgeving en voor de samenleving. Werk is het beste sociale beleid\u201d, vertelde GLB.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In ons land bedragen de overheidsuitgaven 56% van het bbp. In Nederland is dat maar 46%. \u201cHet kan dus met minder \u00e9n effici\u00ebnter, zeker als we naar de welvaartssituatie, de vlotte dienstverlening en de goede infrastructuur bij onze noorderburen kijken.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ook over fiscaliteit was Bouchez opnieuw duidelijk: \u201cGeen belastingverschuiving, maar een verlaging. En zolang de gemiddelde belastingdruk geen 30% bedraagt, moeten de fiscale voordelen behouden blijven. Want ze zorgen voor veel economische activiteit in sectoren en ze scheppen werkgelegenheid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>\u201cWie betaalt, beslist\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En komt er een staatshervorming in 2024? \u201cIk ben daar geen voorstander van\u201d, zei de MR-voorzitter. \u201cWe moeten sociaaleconomische hervormingen doen om de toekomst van onze kinderen en kleinkinderen veilig te stellen. In de eerste plaats hervormingen van de arbeidsmarkt, de pensioenen en de fiscaliteit. Verder zullen we onze energiebevoorrading garanderen dankzij een strategische mix van kern- en hernieuwbare energie. En als er toch een staatshervorming zou moeten komen, dan moeten de deelstaten financi\u00eble autonomie en verantwoordelijkheid krijgen. Wie betaalt, beslist. En wie beslist, is verantwoordelijk voor z\u2019n centen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tot slot herhaalde GLB dat hij voor de invoering van een federale kieskring is, waardoor politici in het hele land aanwezig moeten zijn en niet alleen in hun eigen regio of lokale kieskring. \u201cDe toekomstige premier zou voor mij uit zo\u2019n nationale kieskring moeten komen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Georges-Louis Bouchez was intussen al gastspreker bij Voka Antwerpen-Waasland, Limburg, West-Vlaanderen, Mechelen-Kempen en Vlaams-Brabant, bij denktank Libera en ondernemersclub FluvAnt in Antwerpen, bij De Warande in Brussel en in het House of Flanders in Sint-Katelijne-Waver.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Afgelopen zondag was hij nog met topondernemer Marc Coucke op de echte Ronde van Vlaanderen en deze week zette hij de zijne verder.
